Cloth drawing critique and final

I think this one did edges and creativity very well, because it puts attention onto the cloth rather than the person, and tells a story.

I thought my final had really good contrast and edges, containing extreme black and extreme white.

Gesture drawings 12/4/15

These drawings I though we're the best because of the line continuing through the figure, the figure all fitting on the page, and the lack of a simple balloon head.

Portrait final

I tried to tell a story with this piece, as well as be anatomically correct with the wrinkles and features.

Portrait critique

This picture shows great value and very effective use of props. The hands tell a creepy and mysterious story and enhance the overall picture.

Eggshell drawing

I used sharp edges in order to show the edges of where it's broken on the eggshells, and I used soft  edges to make the bottom of the egg and the middle of it look round.

Skeleton drawing critique

This drawing illustrating foreshortening in a crisp and interesting way. As the skeleton is shortened, the lines become blurrier and less detailed, which helps the part closest to the viewer stand out. I also really liked the texture and accuracy of the skeleton. These elements made it look almost life-like.

Herrick Drescher Drawings

In these two drawings, I liked the way he used line width to express sort of an atmosphere of adventure. These tow in particular have a a very nostalgic feel to them, and seem like something that a child would imagine but a skilled artist has brought to life. They're simple, but atmospheri at the same time.

Mass Gesture and Modeled Line Drawings

I tried to use line in these drawings to show what is close and what is far away. In the mass gesture, the lines are sharper and more defined to show closeness, while the lines far away are blurry. In the modeled line drawings, the almost geometry-like lines show that the objects are round. And where they would be in perspective. I wanted to make these drawing unique by going super intensely on the darks and trying to be a realistic to what I was seeing as I possibly could.

Cumulative Drawing

I used lines in this piece in order to tell a story, and to achieve that right perspective of the list ion of the toy soldier. I also wanted to hopefully use line and form in order to tell a story, especially with the negative space.
